Root ChakraRoot Chakra: In animals the measures the feeling of safety and security that an animal feels.  Rescued animals often have imbalances in this chakra.  Animals who are also in pain or are having trouble grounding themselves exhibit imbalances here. For root chakra healing in animals, I recommend using red and black crystals, such as Red Garnet, Red Jasper, Smoky Quartz, Black Onyx, and Hematite, to rebalance your root chakra.

sacral chakraSacral Chakra: A low energy flow through your sacral chakra will cause a lack of energy and motivation.  In animals, this chakra tells us about that animals zest for life.  Animals who are highly anxious usually have imbalances in this area. To align this chakra center on an animal I recommend Carnelian, Orange Calcite, Tiger’s Eye, and Sunstone.

solar-plexus-chakraSolar Plexus Chakra: An imbalance of the solar plexus chakra will show up if an animal lack self-esteem or self-confidence.  On the flip side, an overactive chakra can cause an animal to be overly aggressive.  To balance solar plexus chakra in animals, try using yellow gemstones, such as Citrine, Yellow Jasper, Rutilated Quartz, and Pyrite.

heart-chakraHeart Chakra: Animals that show an imbalance in this chakra tend to be rescue animals that were mistreated.  They need to learn to give and accept the love that they never felt in their former life prior to their rescue.  Also, animals that get into mischief and get scolded can temporarily show an imbalance in this chakra. To heal the heart chakra of an animal, use green and pink heart chakra stones, such as Chrysoprase, Aventurine, Rose Quartz, or Rhodonite.  Once an animal's heart chakra becomes realigned, he/she will begin to radiate love of all kinds.

throat chakraThroat Chakra: A weak throat chakra will make an animal quiet and unable to express itself and it's needs. When this chakra is overactive, an animal often barks or whines a lot for no reason.  For throat chakra healing in an animal, use light blue crystals like Angelite, Sodalite, Blue Apatite, and Aquamarine.

third eye chakraThird Eye Chakra: The third eye chakra is linked with enhanced intuition. Adult animals, being closer to nature than humans, usually have balanced third eye chakras and as such, they are well equipped to sense human energy and emotions.  That is why animals make such good therapy partners!  Animals are also spiritual animals and can sense energies that are visiting from "the other side".  If an animal is imbalanced in this chakra, they may be young and still developing or have a chemical imbalance.  In crystal therapy, indigo-colored gemstones such as Lapis Lazuli, Sodalite, and Fluorite reawakens their inner wisdom.

crown chakraCrown Chakra: The crown chakra in an animal is related to their connection to their soul purpose.  Just like humans, animals have their own soul journeys.  On a deeper level, most animals are aware of this.  Soul purposes of animals (especially domestic animals) using involve assisting humans in some way.  To balance the crown chakra use crystals such as Clear Quartz, Amethyst, Selenite, and Moonstone.

Brachial Chakra:  This chakra is unique to animals (as opposed to humans) and is located between at the shoulder blades.  It oversees all the other chakras in an animal.  And.... they play a big role in the human animal bond!

Bud Chakras:  Animals also have bud chakras in the bottom of their paws and/or hoofs to help ground excess energy.  They also have bud chakras at the base of their ears.
